Hong Kong Pools

HK, home to shopping malls and dim sum restaurants, might not be the first place you think of for great swimming. But the city actually has a number of scenic pools, including the world’s highest pool and a natural infinity pond on a mountainside.

These gorgeous pools offer a breath of fresh air during the scorching summer, and they’re perfect for impressing out-of-town guests, treating yourself to some weekend R&R or simply taking in the breathtaking vistas. Plus, many of them are open year round and heated during winter, so they’re the best place to soak up Hong Kong’s stunning scenery no matter what season it is.

The pool at the JW Marriott in Admiralty is a true crowd-pleaser, and it’s easy to see why. At 484 meters above street level, it’s the world’s highest pool and offers some of the most incredible views in town. The pool itself is large enough to swim laps and even features a diving board. You can also order up a refreshing drink and some food at the al fresco Fish Bar and Pool Lounge, or just relax on a lounge chair while you admire the skyscrapers that make up urban Hong Kong.

Another of our favourite hk pools is the Pao Yue Kong Swimming Pool in Wong Chuk Hang. This vast complex is separated into two levels, so there’s something for every type of swimmer. Whether you want to swim laps in the main pool or practise your diving skills in the diving pool, there are also two kids’ pools and plenty of other water activities to keep you entertained. Plus, you can soak up the sun at one of the many reclining lounge chairs around the deck or enjoy the serene sunrises and sunsets at the outdoor bar.

If you’re looking for an even more luxe experience, book a staycation package at The Conrad Hong Kong, which includes access to the hotel’s rooftop pool. With a gorgeous view of Mongkok and Kowloon, this pool is the perfect spot to take in HK’s spectacular skyline. Get there early for a few uninterrupted laps or to nab a lounge chair in the cabanas, and don’t forget to order the signature cocktails from the poolside bar.

Of course, there are a handful of other gorgeous hk pools that you can visit for a quick dip or a leisurely afternoon. But they tend to be more exclusive (and often pricier), require you to be a guest at the hotel, or cost hundreds of dollars for a day pass. Thankfully, Klook has put together a list of the best hotel rooftop pools in town, so you can still cool down while you’re on your island escape!
